2 MALES STABBED IN FIGHT, 1 CRITICALLY INJURED; 2 MEN ARRESTED

Two men in their early 20s were stabbed — one critically— Saturday night in a confrontation that spilled over from an attempted drug-related robbery the day before.

Michael Parker, 23, and Kyle Wagner, 22, went to an Ormond Beach residence to confront Adam Vignati, 19, in a prearranged meeting over the Friday robbery attempt. When they arrived at 1714 Carolina Ave., Ormond Beach, Parker was attacked by Vignati, Zyreavion Martin, and two juveniles.

When Wagner attempted to intervene and help Parker, Vignati and Martin went inside the residence and returned with two large kitchen knives, and stabbed Wagner and Parker. The fight eventually broke up and the victims left the scene. Deputies responded to a report of two males being stabbed at the intersection of Derbyshire Road and Alcazar Street, Daytona Beach.

Wagner and Parker were transported by EVAC to Halifax Medical Center. Parker suffered lacerations to his left arm and lower back and was treated and released. Wagner suffered more serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, and punctured liver and kidney. He was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit due to his injuries.

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives responded to the hospital and then to the Ormond Beach scene.  The four suspects admitted to participating in the altercation. Vignati and Martin were arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The juveniles were released to their parents. This investigation is continuing.
