Three People Shot In Separate Incidents

THREE PEOPLE SHOT IN SEPERATE INCIDENTS

Around 2:00 p.m. DeLand Police were sent to 236 W. Walts Ave. following a report that someone had been shot. Officer arriving on scene found two (2) victims with what appears to be gunshot wounds. One patient was in serious condition and flown to Halifax Medical Center. The other patient also went to Halifax by ground and his condition is currently unknown. Detectives are currently on scene trying to determine what happened. Both victims are male, their ages are unknown at this time.

A third person is at Florida Hospital DeLand with what has been indicated to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound also. That situation is also under investigation and at this time a connection between the two events has not been made. His identify is not yet available.

The initial indication is that this not a random chain of events and we do not believe there is any additional threat in the area.

The investigation is just getting started and at this time no other information is available. I will provide an update as we learn more.
