Victor Franklin Jr., 19, has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery stemming from yesterdays shooting. The victim, Jayden Thompson, 14, was released from the hospital.

DELAND POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING ON WEST HUBBARD AVENUE

Around 6:11 P.M. police responded to 509 W. Hubbard Ave. following the report of person being shot. A male at the residence was found wounded and transported to the hospital where it has been determined that the injury is non-life threatening.

The person believed to be responsible for the shooting is in custody and detectives are working at this hour to determine what happened.

There is no other information available at this time while the detectives continue to investigate.
