National Take Back Initiative – Turn in Unused & Expired Medications

Date Added: April 25, 2016 11:16 am

Oficer Evan Doyle
Port Orange Police Department

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.

On April 30, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, citizens can turn in their unused, unwanted, and expired medication (pills only, no liquids) at the Port Orange Police Department, 4545 Clyde Morris Blvd. The service is free and anonymous – drugs can be turned in with no questions asked. Personal information may be blacked out on prescription bottles, or medications may be emptied from the bottles into the bins provided at the drop off location.

For additional information, please contact Community Relations Officer Evan Doyle at 386-506-5810 or at edoyle@port-orange.org.
