         MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN EVENING TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Next of kin has been notified. The deceased individual is identified as Robert Franklin Finzel (date of birth 4-27-1955) of Daytona Beach.

The Port Orange Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash involving one motorcycle, with one occupant, at 4701 City Center Pkwy. The crash occurred at approximately 5:45 PM. The motorcycle appeared to be traveling north on City Center Pkwy. when it left the roadway for unknown reasons. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and the motorcycle came to rest on top of him. The motorcycle driver was pronounced expired at Halifax Hospital in Port Orange. It does not appear a helmet was being worn. The operator of the motorcycle is not being identified at this point, pending next of kin notification. This crash remains under investigation by the Port Orange Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit.
