Port Orange Couple Arrested In Drug Bust

PORT ORANGE COUPLE ARRESTED IN DRUG BUST                         

On September 16th, 2016 at approximately 0545hrs the Port Orange Police Department Detectives and Emergency Response Team made entry into an apartment at the Groves Apartments, 3780 Clyde Morris Blvd. A narcotic search warrant was obtained by the detectives in reference to narcotics being inside the residence after a month of surveillance and other investigative measures. It was determined Michael Conage Jr (04/24/1984) was selling and delivering narcotics from his residence. Upon entry and search of the residence, 146.4 grams of assorted prescription pills, crack cocaine, cannabis and firearms were located. Detectives seized all the narcotics and weapons along with $7,768.00 cash that was with the narcotics. Michael Conage Jr. was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition (4 counts)
  • Trafficking amount over 28gams of Hydromorphone (2 counts)
  • Trafficking in Oxycodone
  • Trafficking in Hydrocodone
  • Possession amphetamine with intent to sell
  • Possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell
  • Possession of cannabis under 20grms
  • Possession of paraphernalia

Michael Conage Jr. has a bond currently set at $1,623,000.00. Michael Conage Jr. was recently released from prison after serving a 9 year sentence related to criminal charges of fleeing and eluding, weapon possessions and trafficking in narcotics. 

Michael Conage’s girlfriend, Zarkia Ash (03/20/1997) was also arrested inside the residence and criminally charged with the following:

  • Possession of hash oil
  • Possession of crack cocaine
  • Possession of hydromorphone (2 counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Zarkia Ash’s bond is currently set at $12,500.00 Zarkia Ash has no known criminal history.

Both subjects have been transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
