MISSING CHILD ALERT - CARLOS PATTERSON

On November 17, 2016 at approximately 1428 hours, Carlos Patterson (13) ran away from Creekside Middle School located at 6801 Airport Road, Port Orange, Florida 32128. An area search was conducted and Carlos could not be located. Carlos is diagnosed with Autism (high functioning), Bi-Polar disorder, ADHD, and is currently suffering from a kidney infection. Carlos also suffers from hypertension.  Carlos requires a list of different medications, none of which, he currently has with him.  Carlos has a history of running away, being hostile towards law enforcement, stealing vehicles, and also has previously been taken into custody under the provisions of the Baker Act.

Additionally, the Port Orange Police Department is also investigating the theft of a motor vehicle. The Chevrolet 2002 Green Chevy Malibu bearing FL Tag # K429AF was taken from the parking lot of the condominiums at 830 Airport Road (Whispering Woods) which is located across the street from the school where Carlos fled from hours earlier. This Modus Operandi is consistent with the activities of Carlos Patterson.  Several times before; Carlos has runaway, located an unsecured vehicle with keys inside, and then fled the area in the vehicle. It is not absolutely certain that Carlos is responsible for the motor vehicle theft; however the circumstances do indicate he did.

FDLE issued a Missing Child Alert for Carlos and have already completed photo, poster, and social media distribution. The stolen vehicle tag has been entered into the traffic camera database which is currently being monitored for positive hits.
