POLICE LOOKING FOR SUSPECT IN RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

On August 16, 2017, a residence in Port Orange was burglarized. During which, one of the items stolen was a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol. On October 3, 2017, the stolen firearm was recovered in New Smyrna Beach during the execution of a search warrant by another agency. An arrest warrant for the suspect, Israel Rios, has been obtained for Armed Burglary of a Residence, Grand Theft over $20,000, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Out-of State Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The Port Orange Police Department is being assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service in our efforts to locate Rios. Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Israel Rios is encouraged to contact Detective Barry Marotte at 386-506-5893.
