DEPUTIES SEEKING SUSPECT WHO STALKED EX-GIRLFRIEND, HID IN HER CAR, HELD HER AT GUNPOINT
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information leading to the arrest of Jason Jurado, who is wanted on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated stalking, armed burglary, tampering with a witness, grand theft and other charges.
On Monday, 7/17, the victim reported after dropping off her children at the babysitter in DeLand, she went back to her vehicle. She heard a noise in the back seat and realized her ex-boyfriend, Jurado, was sitting in the back seat of her car. Jurado then crawled to the front seat, displayed a gun and began loading the gun. Jurado then told the victim to drive and held the gun to her head. Jurado then took the victim's phone, and when she tried to stop him, he struck her hand with the gun. The victim pulled into a parking lot, stopped and began honking her horn for help. When a passerby looked at the vehicle, Jurado fled on foot. The victim drove from the scene and waved down the first police officer she could see.
Jurado has a history of following and terrorizing the victim. On Saturday 7/15, she reported he broke down her bedroom door and forced his way inside before running away.
Deputies are actively seeking Jurado at this time. Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him, but to contact 911 immediately. Anyone with information who wants to remain anonymous may contact Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS or via the app available at WeStopCrime.com. Information leading to Jurado’s arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
