1 SUFFERS MINOR INJURIES FROM GUNFIRE IN ALTERCATION IN DELTONA

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a Sunday night shooting incident in Deltona that caused non-life-threatening injuries to a 21-year-old man.

There were several conflicting accounts given of the incident, which happened around 7:50 p.m. in the 1500 block of April Avenue. It appears that a drug-related transaction was underway when an altercation occurred and shots were fired. The victim was shot or grazed in the cheek but was not seriously injured. He was transported by ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

The investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing, and no further information is available for release at this time.
