ORMOND BEACH MAN CHARGED WITH 30 COUNTS OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

An Ormond Beach resident has been arrested and charged with 30 counts of possessing sexually explicit image of children on his computer following an investigation by Volusia County sheriff’s detectives.

Wayne M. Swafford, 56 (DOB 09/30/1961), of 7 Riverwood Drive was arrested Tuesday night at home by sheriff’s deputies after detectives in the Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at Swafford’s home Aug. 9.

Detectives launched this investigation after receiving a tip in May from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which alerts law enforcement to reports of sexual exploitation of children on the Internet. During their search of Swafford’s home, detectives found pornographic images on his computer portraying male and female children between ages 3-11.

Swafford remains in the Volusia County jail held with no bail allowed.
