VCSO Arrests Man, 34, for Possessing Child Pornography

Volusia County sheriff’s detectives arrested a 34-year-old New Smyrna Beach resident Tuesday and charged him with 11 counts of possessing child pornography after detectives executed a search warrant at his home.

Jacob Black (DOB 2/8/1984), of 4310 State Road 44, was taken into custody early Tuesday and charged with possessing photos and videos of sexual performance of a child. He was transported to the Volusia County jail where he is being held on $110,000 bail.

Detectives were alerted in early May by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which notifies law enforcement about reports of sexual exploitation of children on the Internet. During the six-month investigation, detectives located images of female children between ages 6-12 portrayed in sexually explicit situations. 

More charges are likely as detectives search for any additional potential victims of sexual exploitation. Anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect or any similar case is urged to call the Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
