MAN, 36, CHARGED WITH SEX BATTERY ON CHILD

Suspect is known to victim

A Daytona Beach man has been charged with sexual battery on a child following a monthlong investigation into allegations that he touched the child inappropriately.

Marc Roselle, 36, of 217 Arlington Ave. was arrested Wednesday night in Daytona Beach and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He’s charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12. Roselle remains in custody with no bail allowed.

Detectives in the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit were alerted about the sexual abuse allegations after a school guidance counselor notified officials in early November. The incident reportedly occurred in unincorporated Volusia County at the victim’s former home. The suspect is someone known to the victim.
