DeLand Man, 29, Charged With Possessing Child Porn

VCSO ARRESTS DELAND MAN ON 21 COUNTS OF HAVING CHILD PORN
Volusia County sheriff’s detectives arrested a 29-year-old DeLand resident early Thursday and charged him with 21 counts of possessing child pornography.
Phillip Harper, (DOB 11/13/1989), of 1130 9th Ave., DeLand, was arrested following a traffic stop on a warrant. He is charged with possessing photos and videos of sexual performance of a child. Harper was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail and held on $105,000 bail.
Detectives with the VCSO’s Child Exploitation Unit began investigating Harper in early November. They executed a search warrant at his home Nov. 12. During the investigation, detectives located images of female children between 4-12 years old portrayed in sexually explicit situations.
More charges are possible as detectives search for any additional potential victims of sexual exploitation. Anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect or any similar case is urged to call the Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
