ATTEMPT TO ID SUSPECT IN DEBARY BURGLARY ATTEMPT, DELTONA THEFT

Volusia County sheriff's detectives are still seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who attempted to break into a DeBary home earlier this month and is also a suspect in a retail theft at a nearby T-Mobile store. Video of the burglary attempt is available on the VCSO Facebook page.

Around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 11, the suspect attempted to break into a house at 159 Naranja Road, DeBary, and was captured on the home's Ring security camera when he knocked on the front door. This suspect and a second suspect fled the house in a gray 2018 4-door Honda Civic after attempting to force entry into the house and setting off an alarm.

About an hour later, the same suspect caught on the Ring camera committed a retail theft at the T-Mobile store at 915 Doyle Road in Deltona. He was wearing the same shirt, gray sweatpants and dark hat in both incidents.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to contact Detective Gary Martin at gmartin@vcso.us. To submit an anonymous tip that is eligible for a reward of up to $5,000, contact Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS or via the app available on the website at http://www.northeastflorida.crimestoppersweb.com.
