2 JUVENILES WANTED IN OAK HILL SHOOTING
Warrants Issued for Attempted 2nd-Degree Murder

Sheriff’s detectives have obtained arrest warrants for two teens in a shooting early Sunday in Oak Hill that left a man seriously injured.  The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Joel Tatro. He was shot early Sunday at his home  during a confrontation with four juveniles and was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He remains in stable condition.

Two suspects, James Powell, 15 (DOB 3/26/2003), also known as “Budha” and Sylvano Leslie II,  17, (DOB 1/17/2002) are being charged with attempted second-degree murder  in the shooting.

Anyone who knows their whereabouts is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office by calling 911. Or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-8477 (TIPS) and you could receive a cash award.  Case #19-3758.

VCSO SEEKS SUSPECT IN OVERNIGHT SHOOTING
Oak Hill Man Airlifted to Halifax With Critical Injuries

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a suspect in an overnight shooting that left a man critically injured.

The shooting occurred just aftert 1 a.m. today in the 100 block of East Church Street in Oak Hill. A confrontation occurred when four juveniles arrived uninvited to a home where the adult victim was hosting a party for his high school children. The four were told to leave but one juvenile refused.

An altercation occurred and shots were fired at the victim, hitting him in the neck. The juveniles fled the scene.

The victim has been airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center where he is in critical but stable condition.

This is an active criminal investigation. This incident is not considered a random act. More details will be shared when they become available.
