VCSO Arrests Deltona Man, 70, on Child Molestation Charge

Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Deltona man and charged him with lewd and lascivious molestation of a person under 12 after a male teenager recently reported being the victim of a child sex offense seven to eight years ago.

In addition, the teenager stated he observed the suspect -- who is known to him -- possessing child pornography on electronic devices within the last week.  The victim reported seeing sexually explicit images of teenage boys, as well as younger male and female children, on the suspect’s devices.

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for the defendant, Patrick Renner of Deltona. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home. He remains in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bail allowed.

More charges are possible as detectives search for any additional potential victims of sexual exploitation. Anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect or any similar case is urged to call the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
