After further investigation into this case, Hilario Maldonado has been charged with additional counts of lewd or lascivious battery, directing or promoting a sexual performance of a child and possession of a sexual performance by a child. Anyone who has information about potentially similar encounters involving Maldonado is asked to contact Det. Steven Wheeler at SWheeler@vcso.us.

The missing juvenile returned home late this afternoon. She is safe. *Her name has been removed from this release to protect her privacy.

UPDATE #1:

Sheriff’s detectives located Hilario Maldonado, 29, this afternoon at his DeLand home. He has been taken into custody on charges of interfering with child custody after a DeBary teen left her home early today, possibly traveling with him, and a Be On the Lookout (bolo) was issued.

The teen is still missing and the Sheriff’s Office is asking everyone to keep an eye out for her.

PUBLIC’S HELP SOUGHT TO FIND MISSING TEEN, 15
DeBary Girl May Be With Adult Male

Volusia sheriff’s detectives need the public’s help to find a missing DeBary teen who may be with a 29-year-old male and was last seen at 4:15 a.m. today at her home.

The 15-year-old was last seen at her residence on Craycroft Avenue. She is 5’2” and weighs 130 pounds. She has blonde hair in a ponytail with the bottom half of her hair shaved. She was wearing a dark hoodie and white and blue camo running shorts when last seen.

She may be traveling with Hilario Maldonado, 29 (DOB 6/25/1991) in a beige Audi with Florida tag 379-1XA. He is a convicted felon and may be armed.
