6 INJURED IN MAJOR CRASH IN DELTONA

An overnight crash involving two vehicles in Deltona seriously injured several people.

The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. on Elkcam Boulevard at Evard Avenue. A red Toyota sedan traveling on Elkcam at a high rate of speed appeared to have crossed into the oncoming lane, striking a white 4-door Acura head-on.

Four patients from the Toyota (all age 21) and two from the Acura (ages 51 and 36) were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
