Beachside Special Event Zone In Effect Beginning Friday, June 14

Due to the potential for an unpermitted truck event that could substantially disrupt traffic this weekend, Sheriff Mike Chitwood has designated a Special Event Zone on the beachside effective 6 p.m. Friday, June 14.

Signs have been posted at the boundaries of the designated zone where all laws will be strictly enforced, fines for traffic infractions will be doubled, and vehicles in violation will be subject to impoundment.

This zone will remain in effect as long as is reasonably necessary for public safety, health and welfare. It will not remain in effect if/after the unpermitted pop-up event dissipates.
