DELAND FIREWORKS STORE EMPLOYEE CHARGED WITH STEALING $14K IN FIREWORKS

A DeLand fireworks store employee is charged with grand theft after she was caught stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of fireworks from the business to resell on her own.

A deputy responded to Four Seasons Fireworks in DeLand on Monday after the business manager reported the thefts. It was discovered that Jessica Clark (DOB 10/26/1988) had on multiple occasions loaded her vehicle full of fireworks from the store.

After she was confronted about the thefts, Clark confessed and returned what she took. She reportedly told management she intended to sell the fireworks to pay off personal debt.

Deputies helped unload one of the stolen loads of fireworks on Tuesday and arrested Clark on a charge of grand theft of more than $10,000. An inventory of the stolen cases indicated the total value was $14,239.42.

Clark was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail on Tuesday afternoon and released later after posting $5,000 bond.
