Deltona Man Riding Dirt Bike Dies After Crash

TRAFFIC CRASH KILLS DELTONA MAN, 50

A Deltona man was killed over the weekend after the dirt bike he was riding collided with a Jeep.

Otis White, 50, was pronounced deceased at the scene Saturday at 2:20 p.m. by Deltona firefighters.

The driver of the Jeep told traffic detectives he was driving west on Winterville Street in Deltona and turned left into the driveway of his home. He heard and felt a large impact from the passenger side of the Jeep. Upon exiting the vehicle, he saw the victim lying injured in the roadway.

The Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene and Traffic Homicide units responded to the scene. Preliminary indications are that the dirt bike was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the Jeep.

The crash remains an active investigation.
