DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING DELTONA SHOOTING THAT INJURED 1

Volusia sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a Deltona man overnight.

Deputies responded to the 3200 block of Partridge Street, Deltona, around 12:30 a.m. after the shooting was reported. The victim, a 45-year-old man, had sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The victim reported he was in his driveway, having just returned home, when a vehicle arrived and an unknown person inside the vehicle shot at him.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

Update (2/7/23): Amonte Davis, 25 (DOB 10/11/1997), of Ocala, is now in custody in the Volusia County Branch Jail in connection to this May 2022 shooting in Deltona. Detectives used video evidence, license plate reader te/chnology and cell phone data to identify Davis as the suspect. Davis has been in the Marion County Jail since January on unrelated charges. He was transported to Volusia County on Monday on his VSO warrants for principal to attempted murder, principal to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and principal to shooting into an occupied vehicle. He’s being held with no bond.
