Man Charged In Shooting At Oak Hill Party

Deputies responded to a shooting incident reported around 1:42 a.m. Sunday on Flamingo Road in Oak Hill.

The initial information provided indicates a man at a house party fired a gun at another party goer, but missed. The victim then charged at the shooter and stabbed him in the stomach.

The shooter is being airlifted to the hospital for treatment and detectives are responding to investigate further.

Update: The shooter in this case (Nicholas Gant, DOB 8/5/2001) is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Update #2: After closer inspection, a grazing gunshot wound was discovered on the victim’s head. The shooter’s charge has been amended to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
