Video: 18+ Kilos Cocaine, Trafficking Amounts Of Fentanyl, Meth & More Recovered During Search Warrant

Around 6 a.m. Friday, the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from VSO SWAT and the Volusia Bureau of Investigation (VBI), executed a narcotics search warrant at 409 Pelican Bay Road, Daytona Beach. A search warrant was issued after an extended investigation into complaints that Rakim Shabazz was involved in large-scale narcotics sales of cocaine and fentanyl.

Shabazz and his girlfriend Sheanett Range were located in the master bedroom area of the home. Shabazz’s two minor children were located in separate bedrooms at the opposite side of the house. The children were released to a family friend, after speaking with the mother who does not reside at the residence.

Once the children were gone, a search of the residence was conducted which resulted in the recovery of 18+ kilos of powder cocaine, and trafficking amounts of crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine and oxycodone.

Additionally, a kilo press, sifters, mannitol powder and blenders with cocaine and fentanyl residue were located, indicating Shabazz and Range were manufacturing and cutting narcotics within the residence.

Shabazz and Range were arrested and charged with numerous counts of trafficking in narcotics and were delivered to the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond. Additionally, both adults were charged with child neglect as numerous items of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia were located throughout the residence and readily accessible to the children.

The East Volusia Narcotics Task Force is comprised of members of the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Edgewater Police Department, New Smyrna Beach Police Department, and Port Orange Police Department. VBI includes members of VSO, DeLand Police Department, Edgewater PD, Ormond Beach Police Department, the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Central Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA).
