Video: Deputies Out On Beach, Water, Roads For Crowded Memorial Day Weekend

Thanks to everyone who came out for Memorial Day weekend 2024!

Volusia beaches saw 32,873 vehicle entries from Friday morning to Monday night.

On the roads, deputies working traffic enforcement made 381 traffic stops, issuing 351 traffic tickets, 57 warnings, and 23 criminal citations. They also made 23 misdemeanor arrests and 2 felony arrests.

On the beach, deputies issued several dozen violations, mainly for county ordinances restricting dogs, alcohol and loud music.

On the water, marine units made 114 boat stops, resulting in 28 citations and 137 written warnings. One BUI was turned over to FWC.
