Date Added: January 10, 2025 6:14 pm
Aiden Brown, 11, is charged with making a false report of a bomb (a felony) and disrupting a school function.
On his school bus this morning, Aiden decided to yell out that another student had a bomb in his backpack.
The bus driver immediately reported the threat, and an entire shift of deputies and additional units responded to the area of Oxford Drive and Lorraine Drive in Deltona, where the bus pulled over. Staff from Deltona Middle School and Volusia County Schools also responded to the scene.
The bus was cleared of students and swept for explosives or firearms. There were none.
Aiden later admitted he made up the bomb threat and never had any reason to believe there was actually a bomb on the bus.
Through interviews with Aiden, other students, and a review of video surveillance footage, deputies confirmed he repeatedly knowingly shouted a false report of a bomb.
Aiden was transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center for processing on his criminal charges.
