Woman Fatally Shot During Domestic Disturbance At Edgewater Home

Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting Thursday evening at a home off Liza Clinton Road, Edgewater.

The initial information reported around 5:10 p.m. is that the adult female victim was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance.

The adult male shooter is receiving treatment on scene for a minor injury and will be interviewed by detectives.

Update (10:15 a.m. Friday): The deceased in this case is Monica Robarge, 40, of 4210 Liza Clinton Road, Edgewater (the location of the incident).

Robarge was unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds when EMS arrived at the residence Thursday. EMS attempted life-saving measures, but Robarge was pronounced deceased on scene.

The shooter was identified as Robarge’s boyfriend, who indicated that he shot Robarge in self-defense during an altercation. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the incident and declined to speak further with detectives without an attorney present.

He has not been charged at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Robarge’s next of kin responded to the scene prior to detectives’ arrival and was aware of the fatal shooting.

There were no prior law enforcement contacts at the address and no previous reports of domestic violence involving the couple. The investigation is continuing, and additional updates will be provided as the investigation allows.
